As summer approaches here in Texas, thought I'd share these tips to keep your HVAC unit performing at optimal capacity! We all know the Texas heat is no time to have no AC!

To help prevent premature HVAC system breakdowns and extend the life of the system:

  • Regularly remove dust from around grills and ducts,

  • Poor Simply Green down the clean out spout (normally located in the attic) to keep the overflow pipe free of buildup,

  • Replace filters as directed by the manufacturer,

  • Examine and weatherize windows as necessary,

  • Clear plants and debris around the condenser to ensure proper airflow, and

  • Cover the condenser in fall and winter months to protect it from adverse weather.
